Virginia Commonwealth University and Fear 2 Freedom will partner for an event next week in which volunteers gather to assemble kits for sexual assault victims.
The project is an annual event between VCU and Fear 2 Freedom, a global nonprofit organization working to help victims of sexual assault. The event will be held on Tuesday, March 25, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the Jonah L. Larrick Student Center. Kits will benefit both children and adult victims of sexual assault who are patients of the VCU Medical Center.
Students, faculty, staff and the public are invited to attend the event and help assemble the kits, which will include toiletries, clothing, toys and sexual assault educational information and resources. The kits will be delivered to the VCU Medical Center Emergency Department via ambulance at the conclusion of the event. Volunteers who would like to help with setting up can arrive at the Larrick Center anytime between 2 p.m. and 6 p.m.
