The Center for Companies that Care has named the Virginia Commonwealth University Health System to its Honor Roll for the second consecutive year.

The VCU Health System is one of 35 companies nationwide selected for their commitment to elevating the quality of the work environment for employees and the quality of life for the people in the community as well as adhering to the 10 Characteristics of a “Company that Cares.”

“We are thrilled to be recognized on a national level for our efforts,” said Debbie Slayden, director of workforce development, VCU Health System. “Most importantly, it means we're doing the right things for the right reasons —  to improve the lives of our employees and the well-being of our community”

This year’s Honor Roll features large and small, public and private national companies in diverse industries. Honorees include AAA Mid-Atlantic, Bon Secours Richmond Health System, Levy Restaurants, Nationwide Insurance, Office Depot Inc., Rush University Medical Center and The Supply Room Cos.

The Honor Roll is selected by an independent panel of veteran professionals in a variety of industries and is announced annually on the third Thursday of March in conjunction with the annual launch of CAREDAYS — a month-long, national initiative to engage individuals and employers in activities addressing a significant societal issue in our communities.
