A cultural immersion! Students speak the language and learn about the history, culture and customs of other countries. An academy in Chinese was added this year to the existing French, German, Spanish, Latin, Japanese and Russian groups. Photo by Kevin Cusumano.
In addition to the Olympics competition shown here, students set up an international market and participate in a variety of cultural art, dance, music, crafts, sports and cooking activities. The Governor’s Foreign Language Academies began in June and continue through July 13. This year, 318 high school students and 70 staff members are participating. Photo by Kevin Cusumano.
