VCU hosts “Obesity and the African Americans” discussion

Virginia Commonwealth University’s Department of African American Studies and the L. Douglas Wilder School of Government and Public Affairs are sponsoring a discussion about obesity in the African American community.
Jeannette Newton Keith, M.D., assistant professor of medicine, Section of Gastroenterology, University of Chicago, will discuss her research “Obesity and the African American Community.” The discussion will take place at 4 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 14, in the Forum Room in VCU’s Student Commons, 907 Floyd Ave. It is free and open to the public.
The discussion will be of interest to those working in areas of women’s health, African American health and health disparities.
