VCU Hume-Lee Transplant Center to Hold Biannual Donor Celebration

Virginia Commonwealth University Medical Center’s Hume-Lee Transplant Center will host its biannual donor celebration to highlight organ donation and transplantation for patients and caregivers.

The event will take place Thursday, Sept. 16, from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the UNOS building, 400 N. 4th St., Richmond.

Donors and recipients will share stories regarding their transplant experiences.

The VCU Medical Center’s Hume-Lee Transplant program was pioneered by the late Dr. David Hume and further developed by Dr. H. M. Lee and has existed since 1957. The clinical transplant program includes hepatic, renal and pancreatic transplantation.
