VCU institute for women's health offers free seminars

RICHMOND, Va. – Virginia Commonwealth University will present two seminars focusing on women’s health and aging, from 7 p.m. – 9 p.m. on Oct. 17 and 24. On Oct. 17, the seminar will be held at the Tuckahoe YMCA, 9211 Patterson Ave., and on Oct. 24, the seminar will be held at the Imani Center, 1506 Hull St.
During each evening seminar, participants may attend two of four educational sessions that will address the topics of calcium, mental health, menopause and exercise.
The events will offer free health screenings including blood pressure and blood sugar checks. Bone density screenings also are available but will be limited in number due to time restraints.
Sponsored by the VCU Institute for Women’s Health, the events are free and open to the public; pre-registration is not required. For more information, call Valerie Coleman at (804) 828-4634.
