Student participants in VCU’s Lobs & Lessons program welcomed four Olympic athletes to the Mary and Frances Youth Center. Speed skaters Rebekah Bradford, Kimberly Derrick, Travis Jayner and Nancy Swider-Peltz visited on April 29 and answered questions about themselves and the Olympics, showed off their medals and signed autographs.

Lobs & Lessons began in the fall of 2004 with the mission of reaching out to underserved youth in the Richmond area by focusing on life skill lessons and the sport of tennis. Lobs & Lessons has reached hundreds of children through its after-school and summer enrichment programs.
