Virginia Commonwealth University Medical Center and Children’s Hospital of Richmond at VCU are offering a series of free educational seminars featuring experts providing important health information, sharing their expertise and answering questions on current health topics.

The series’ fourth seminar, “Kids and Snoring: When Should You Be Concerned?,” will take place on May 6 from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Gari Melchers Home and Studio at Belmont, 224 Washington St., in Falmouth, Va. It is free and open to the public, but registration is recommended. For more information or to register, visit vcuhealth.org/fredseminars.

“Kids and Snoring: When Should You Be Concerned?” will be presented by Michael Schechter, M.D., pulmonologist at the Children’s Hospital of Richmond at VCU. The seminar will discuss when to be concerned with a child’s snoring habits, since children who snore often and loudly may face other problems. He will go over the causes, complications and treatment of obstructive sleep apnea in children, based upon recently published guidelines from the American Academy of Pediatrics.
