The Virginia Commonwealth University Medical Center continues its free educational seminar series this winter featuring experts who provide important health information and answer questions on a variety of current topics in health care.
The series’ next lecture, “Epilepsy and Controlling Your Seizures,” will take place on March 4 from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at the Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden, Education and Library Complex, 1800 Lakeside Ave. It is free and open to the public, but registration is required. For more information, or to register, call 804-828-0123 or email seminars@mcvh-vcu.edu. Online registration is available at https://redcap.vcu.edu/rc/surveys/?s=g3uYRen2EG.
“Epilepsy and Controlling Your Seizures” will be presented by Soundarya Gowda, M.D., of the VCU Department of Neurology. The seminar will discuss how some people find medications meant to control seizures ineffective. There are other options available that can improve the quality of life for those with epilepsy and help control seizures when medications don’t work.
