VCU Medical Center recognized by Virginia Chapter of the International Association of Forensic Nurses

The Virginia Commonwealth University Medical Center’s forensic nurse team has received the Dream Team Award from the Virginia Chapter of the International Association of Forensic Nurses.

The team received this award, which recognizes outstanding interagency collaboration based on collaborative spirit, willingness to share information and to support one another in their roles, and their interdisciplinary respect and desire to work as a team to improve the overall outcome. The goal of the dream team is to provide the best possible care to victims of violence.

The team includes a forensic nurse and regular participants such as attorneys, law enforcement agents and investigators, social workers, health care providers, victim patient advocates, interpreters and therapists. 

A special pin symbolizing medico-legal collaboration will be awarded to each recipient. In addition, the VA-IAFN will present the VCU Medical Center Dream Team members with a plaque.
