Two VCU music alumni are nominated for 2012 Grammy Awards, which will be presented this Sunday.
Dustin Faltz, who received a bachelor’s degree in 2007, and Michael D. Congdon, who received a bachelor’s degree in 2005, were nominated as engineers of Chris Brown’s album F.A.M.E., which was nominated for Best R & B Album of the Year.
Faltz is a voice-over artist, stage and screen actor, vocalist, studio musician, audio engineer and instructor who maintains a busy career in the Richmond area. Congdon is the founder of Artesian Entertainment Group, LLC, which produces the high quality media projects, including nationally broadcast television series, feature films, radio programs, corporate advertising, internal corporate branding, commercial advertising and mainstream music for top-level international recording artists, such as Chris Brown, P. Diddy, VCU faculty member Rex Richardson and Juniper Green.
In addition, former VCU music student Reggie Pace performs with the band Bon Iver, which was nominated for Record of the Year, Song of the Year, Best New Artist and Best Alternative Music Album. Pace joined Bon Iver after the nominated album had been completed, but he has toured extensively with the band since the album’s release.
When not on tour with the Grammy nominee, Pace performs locally with the No BS! Brass Band, Glows in the Dark and Fight the Big Bull.
