VCU President Michael Rao’s State of the University speech to be released Thursday

Virginia Commonwealth University President Michael Rao, Ph.D., will discuss VCU’s emergence from the challenges it faced in 2020 in his annual State of the University speech, which will be released on Thursday.

Rao’s address will reflect on the impact that the COVID-19 pandemic has had on both the university and the health system, and he will highlight the inspiring ways that the VCU community has responded to the challenges it has encountered. He also will introduce his plans to eliminate barriers to education and health care, so that opportunities for everyone are accessible, affordable and timely.
