VCU Professor can Discuss the Great Depression

Virginia Commonwealth University has an expert available to discuss the Great Depression in advance of the 80th anniversary of the stock market crash on Oct. 29, 1929.
John Kneebone, Ph.D., associate professor in the Department of History, is teaching an undergraduate seminar course titled “America in the 1930s” this semester.
Kneebone joined VCU as a collateral instructor of history in 2003 and became an associate professor of history in 2004. Prior to joining VCU, Kneebone enjoyed a long career with the Library of Virginia, where he had served as director of the publications and education services division from 1996 until 2002.
Kneebone is co-editor and contributor of the “Dictionary of Virginia Biography,” volumes 1, 2, and 3; co-editor of “A Key to Survey Reports and Microfilm of the Virginia Colonial Records Project;” and author of “Southern Liberal Journalists and the Issue of Race, 1920-1944.” He is a member of the Organization of American Historians and the Southern Historical Association.
