Economist Marci Rossell and futurist Joel Kotkin will be among the speakers at the Virginia Commonwealth University School of Business’ 23rd annual Real Estate Trends Conference next week.
The conference, organized by the Real Estate Program in the School of Business, will be held Oct. 8 at the Greater Richmond Convention Center. Doors open with registration and a continental breakfast at 7:30 a.m. The program starts at 8:15 a.m.
The conference is expected to attract more than 1,200 people from both the academic and professional ranks, representing segments such as banking, engineering, investments, consulting, government, brokerage and appraisal.
Rossell, former CNBC chief economist and co-host of SQUAWK BOX, will kick off the conference with an economic overview and forecast. She will discuss the nexus of economics, politics, culture and the media.
A panel discussion on housing and finance — featuring Todd Harrop of Nationwide, John Levy of John B. Levy & Co., Jerome Lienhard of Suntrust Mortgage and Vincent Toye of Wells Fargo — will follow.
The conference concludes with Kotkin discussing how the addition of 100 million Americans by 2050 will affect the economic, professional and personal landscape of the nation's citizens.
