In addition to remarks, the ceremony will include a reception, tours of the center and health exhibits. DJ Kevin Bledsoe from Radio One will be on hand for the festivities. Children can participate in face painting, balloon crafts and hand painting. The event will end by 5 p.m.

The Mosby Resource Center will offer a number of services to residents of the Mosby community including health education, relationship and parenting groups, teen peer support and education, relationship wellness check-ups and referrals for men and women, blood control checks, birth control and family planning. Clinical services will be supported by the VCU School of Nursing Community Nursing Organization for the Richmond City Health District.

Other community-based organizations, such as the Fan Free clinic, will be working with the Richmond City Health District to provide clinical testing and services in HIV and AIDS prevention. Additionally, social services and tutorial and education programs will be offered by other agencies.

The Mosby Resource Center is made possible through a partnership between the VCU School of Nursing Community Nursing Organization, the Mosby Tenant Council, the Richmond City Health District and the Richmond Redevelopment & Housing Authority.
