VCU Sponsors Young Women’s Health Day at Huguenot High School

The Virginia Commonwealth University Women in Medicine Student Organization has teamed up with the VCU Health System Community Outreach to provide health education and promote health career opportunities for young women at Huguenot High School.

The event is scheduled for Friday, Nov. 10, from 7:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. in the main gym of Huguenot High School, 7945 Forest Hill Ave.

Approximately 600 female students at Huguenot High School will have the opportunity to learn about teen issues, nutrition, bone health, healthy relationships, sports and fitness, cancer, self-image and self-confidence through speaker presentations and information booths.

Additionally, VCU experts in the fields of radiology, nursing, medicine, physical therapy, occupational therapy, pharmacy, forensics, dentistry, transplant and more, will be on hand to discuss their line of work and talk with participants about career possibilities.
