Virginia Commonwealth University will unveil its Level 2 electric vehicle charging stations this week with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at the West Broad Street Parking Deck.

The ceremony will be held on Thursday, May 5, at 11 a.m. at the West Broad Street Parking Deck, 1111 W. Broad St. The charging stations are located on the second floor of the deck.

At 240 volts, L2 EV charging stations can charge a vehicle in one to four hours — up to three times faster than an L1 charging station. VCU is the first university campus in the state to acquire the L2 charging stations. It will have two stations in the West Broad deck and two in the N Deck on the MCV Campus.
