VCU TV/HD takes us inside the comic book scene in Richmond

VCU-TV/HD in September takes viewers for a behind-the-scenes look at the Richmond comic book scene from Velocity Comics to VCU’s Comic Arts Collection.
The September lineup also includes in-depth interviews with a VCU alumnus who became an executive at Warner Bros. Television and a VCU graduate student who discovered an unpublished poem by Sylvia Plath, as well as a look at music and dance at VCU.
VCU-TV/HD produces programs in cinéma vérité style that are broadcast on WCVW – TV channel 57 and cable channel 24 in Richmond. They also are available in streaming, high definition and iPod versions at http://www.vcutvhd.vcu.edu.
“VCU Comics” is a one-hour show that airs at 9 p.m. on Sept. 3.
On Sept. 17 at 9 p.m., “Inside Out” features interviews with VCU alumnus Dick Robertson, former president of Warner Bros. Distribution, and VCU student Anna Journey, who discovered the unpublished poem by the Pulitzer Prize-winning Plath.
At 9:30 p.m., “All that Swazz” features the VCU Swing Club as well as VCU jazz band “Fight the Big Bull.”
VCU TV/HD is a student-run television production at Virginia Commonwealth University. Thanks to a partnership with Community Idea Stations, owned by Commonwealth Public Broadcasting, the VCU TV/HD programs air two Mondays a month on WCVW.
