VCU’S L. Douglas Wilder School of Government and Public Affairs seeks “Excellence in Virginia Government Awards” nominees

RICHMOND, Va. (Aug. 8, 2006) – Virginia Commonwealth University's L. Douglas Wilder School of Government and Public Affairs is seeking nominees from across Virginia for the 2nd annual "Excellence in Virginia Government Awards."

Awards will be presented in November to individuals and organizations in the public and private sectors who have contributed significantly to the practice of government and the well-being of the commonwealth's communities and citizens. 

Nominations are being sought in the following categories: public information, public-private partnership, innovation in government, community enhancement, expansion in freedom, and lifetime public achievement.

Nominations may be made by an individual or an organization. Self-nominations are also welcome.

Nominations must be received by mail, by 5 p.m., Aug. 24, 2006.  Send them to:
