The L. Douglas Wilder School of Government and Public Affairs at Virginia Commonwealth University is accepting nominations for the 11th annual Excellence in Virginia Government Awards (EVGA).
The awards honor the achievements of individuals and organizations in Virginia that have made notable contributions to the practice of government and the well-being of the commonwealth’s communities and citizens. The awards recognize leadership in seven categories: lifetime achievement, innovation in government, public-private partnership, community enhancement, unsung heroes, expansion of freedom, and public information. Nomination forms can be found at http://www.wilder.vcu.edu/news/evga.html and will be accepted through Friday, Aug. 14.
Established in 2005, the awards ceremony and luncheon are hosted by the Wilder School and coordinated by members of a selection committee that includes alumni and leaders from the private, nonprofit and public sectors. This year’s awards will be presented on Friday, Nov. 13, at the Richmond Marriott.
