VCU news

Leigh Farmer joined VCU Enterprise Marketing and Communications in March 2024.  In her role as assistant director, Farmer supports storytelling, media relations and strategic communications for our clinical operations at VCU Health.

Farmer began her career as a journalist, working for several television affiliates across the country.  She transitioned to government and non-profit public relations, working as the public information officer for Lynchburg (VA) City Schools and as the communications director for Horizon Behavioral Health, one of the largest community services boards in the commonwealth.  Most recently, she ran her own consultancy and assisted local non-profits and religious institutions with their communications efforts.

Farmer is a proud graduate of Virginia Commonwealth University.  She is excited to be among her Ram family once again.
