Shea Wright joined VCU Enterprise Marketing and Communications in August 2024.

In her role as the senior public relations and communications specialist for Community Memorial Hospital, Wright supports storytelling, pitches to local media and develops strategic communications plans for CMH. Wright also works closely with CMH leadership to strengthen the hospital's presence both internally and externally. 

Wright began her communications career in Washington, D.C., supporting grassroots and legislative efforts for the American Bankers Association. She transitioned to the retail industry where her focus was on internal communications and social media implementation before freelancing in the nonprofit and tech industries, where her focus was on creating and leading digital strategies. Wright has spent the last five years working in higher ed, and most recently joined the team from VCU’s Departments of Neurology and Neurosurgery, where she led internal communications and social media strategy for the departments.

Wright is a graduate of Hampton University with a degree in public relations and is currently pursuing a master’s in counselor education at VCU.
