Every Ram’s a researcher
Virginia Commonwealth University is a research university. That means research is happening in every discipline and in every corner of the university, whether it’s at the Department of Biostatistics or the Department of Graphic Design. And it means that undergraduates, no matter their major, are strongly encouraged to dive into research — and they do, sometimes almost literally.
During this year’s Research Weeks, VCU News caught up with undergraduates from diverse academic disciplines who, with support from faculty mentors and resources like the Undergraduate Research Opportunities Program, have found research projects they can be passionate about. Along the way, they've made connections and picked up skills that will last well beyond their college experience.
