Latin Dance Nights draw enthusiastic crowds

Popular series is part of Latine Heritage Month celebration at VCU.

As part of the ongoing celebration of Latine Heritage Month at Virginia Commonwealth University, the Office of Multicultural Student Affairs has hosted “¡Muevete!: Latin Dance Nights,” a weekly series on Thursdays in Monroe Park.

The five nights of the series feature a range of Latinx-inspired dances, such as Cumbia, Merengue and Bachata. University photographer Kevin Morley was there on a recent night to capture the dancers. The final night in the series is scheduled for Oct. 13 from 6 to 7 p.m. in Monroe Park. More information, including how to register for the free event, can be found here. Latine Heritage Month runs from Sept. 15 to Oct. 15.
