As Virginia Commonwealth University gears up for a comprehensive fundraising campaign, which will launch in September 2025, a team of dedicated volunteer leaders has been assembled to offer ongoing strategic guidance and support.

The campaign cabinet — composed of distinguished alumni and donors across VCU and VCU Health and from around the commonwealth and country — was selected by VCU President Michael Rao, Ph.D., to provide consultation on the planning and implementation of the campaign. The campaign is led by Chairs Michelle Baldacci and David Baldacci, J.D.; Dawn Parker and Keith Parker; and Donna Perlin, M.D.; and Jonathan Perlin, M.D., Ph.D.

“I am sincerely grateful for this remarkable group of passionate supporters and friends of VCU and VCU Health,” Rao said. “Their expertise and leadership will guide VCU’s largest campaign and help us continue to meet our vital mission of creating unlimited opportunities for everyone we serve.”

With their strong ties and commitment to VCU, these leaders are ideally positioned to champion VCU and its campaign goals while fostering ongoing relationships with other VCU constituents during the campaign.

“Our campaign tri-chairs and campaign cabinet members are essential to the success of what is certain to be a historic comprehensive campaign for VCU and VCU Health,” said Jay E. Davenport, vice president for development and alumni relations. “In these roles, they are rising to the call to champion, invest and invite in support of VCU’s mission. They champion our university by embracing and advancing the vision that drives our growth and impact. They invest in our future by making personal, meaningful contributions that advance our campaign goals. And they invite others to join in, generously opening their homes, businesses and networks to connect us with those who can help elevate VCU to new heights. We are deeply grateful for their dedication and leadership.”
