23rd Annual Neuroscience Symposium

The Central Virginia Chapter of the Society for Neuroscience held its 23rd Annual Neuroscience Symposium on March 18 at the MCV Alumni Association Conference Center at Virginia Commonwealth University. The topic of the symposium was “Neuroengineering: Insights from Brain-Machine Interfaces.” The speakers included, from left to right, Andrew Schwarz, Ph.D., professor of neurobiology from the University of Pittsburgh; Patrick Tresco, Ph.D., chair of biomedical engineering at the University of Utah; Thomas Anastasio, Ph.D., a neuro-computationalist from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign; and Col. Geoffrey Ling M.D., Ph.D., chair of neurology at Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences and program manager at DARPA.
