Children’s Hospital of Richmond at VCU will break ground on its inpatient children’s hospital Saturday — kicking off construction on a $350 million facility that will complete an entire city block dedicated to the care of kids. The hospital will replace existing inpatient unit beds and consolidate inpatient and emergency care to one location, adjacent to the outpatient Children’s Pavilion on the VCU Medical Center campus.

CHoR has experienced tremendous growth in key areas of people, programs and places over the past decade and the new facility is the next phase of a comprehensive plan to advance children’s health care. With the support of generous community members, the Children’s Hospital Foundation has been an integral part of CHoR’s growth, and foundation leadership will make an announcement at the groundbreaking.
