Children’s Hospital of Richmond at VCU (CHoR) will open a new children’s playroom for inpatient pediatric patients on the MCV Campus.

The new playroom brings the outdoors in, featuring special sun lighting, clouds, trees and a farmers market installation.

The space was designed and funded by the family and friends of 5-year-old Logan Wyatt, a childhood cancer patient at Children’s Hospital of Richmond at VCU. Wyatt’s family and friends developed the Willow Tree Foundation to fund the playroom renovation project and other initiatives that benefit hospitalized children.

“Logan was diagnosed with a brain tumor in March 2013 and our friends raised funds through a golf tournament to help us cover the mound of medical expenses,” said Cindy Wyatt, Logan’s mother. “They were so successful that we decided to do another tournament and give back the kindness and love that everyone at CHoR gave to Logan.”
