The premier unit of its kind in Virginia, VCU's Evans-Haynes Burn Center is the oldest civilian burn facility in the United States. The center is a 12-bed unit with four adult intensive care beds and eight acute care beds. The center averages 220 admissions a year.

Patients, family members, nurses, physicians, and staff renew acquaintances during a reception and brief presentation.
