Deputy Assistant Secretary for Nuclear Reactor Technologies speaks at VCU

John Kelly, Ph.D., deputy assistant secretary for nuclear reactor technologies in the United States Department of Energy’s Office of Nuclear Energy, will discuss how his office uses existing nuclear technologies and develops new ones during a presentation at VCU.
Kelly will present a lecture titled “The Nuclear Reactor Technologies Program at the Department of Energy” on Wednesday, Sept. 25 from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. in the Ethyl Auditorium, VCU School of Engineering, West Hall, 601 W. Main St. Reporters are invited to cover the lecture.
Kelly will speak on the Department of Energy’s perspective and strategic vision on Small and Medium Sized Reactors (SMRs) and the Nuclear Energy University Program, which consolidates university support under one initiative to better integrate university research within NE’ technical programs.
