Fall 2020 Commencement Update

Dear VCU Class of 2020,

At the close of every semester at VCU, we highlight, celebrate, and honor our newest graduates. This year is no exception. Commencement is a time that we all truly love. We are proud of all of you and look forward to what’s to come for you.

As we continue to face the challenges of the pandemic as a university community, we are wholly committed to your safety and wellbeing. And so, on Saturday, Dec. 12, we will honor the achievements of our August and December graduates with a virtual commencement celebration.

Your many accomplishments inspire us, especially now, and deserve special recognition, and we look forward to honoring you with a special customized ceremony. Beginning at 10 a.m. on Dec. 12, our virtual celebration will include the ceremony broadcast with an interactive online experience for graduates and their families and a copy of your commencement program.

May 2020 graduates originally invited to participate in December ceremonies will be invited to join their classmates at a future university commencement ceremony. All 2020 graduates will be contacted with more information.

As you prepare for graduation, we invite you and your families to visit the VCU Commencement website at commencement.vcu.edu for up-to-date information.

I look forward to seeing you, albeit virtually, and to celebrating your graduation on Dec. 12.

Sincerely,

Michael Rao, Ph.D.
