Earlier, Governor Kaine addressed students about safety and preparedness. The governor called on them to 1) prepare an emergency kit with water, nonperishable food, batteries, a flashlight and a radio, 2) develop a communications plan to help them reach family and friends in the event of an emergency and 3) know where and how to get good information before a disaster strikes.
