Gresham named public relations specialist for Virginia Commonwealth University News Services

Tom Gresham, 29, is based on the Monroe Park Campus and will coordinate the public relations efforts in several key areas of the university.
Gresham most recently was a reporter for the Williston Observer, a weekly newspaper in Williston, Vt. His duties included covering the town’s municipal offices, public safety departments and schools. He won Vermont Press Association awards for feature and news writing.
Gresham also has worked as a general assignment reporter for the Shelburne News in Shelburne, Vt., and as a sports reporter for the Daily Progress newspaper in Charlottesville.
Gresham, a Richmond native, received a bachelor’s degree in English from the University of Virginia in 1998.
The University News Services office, part of the Division of External Relations, has two major responsibilities: to fulfill the public information obligations of the university as a public institution, and to develop and execute effective public relations programs to support the goals of VCU and its faculty and staff.
