Head of MCV Hospitals appointed to AHA governing council

John Duval, CEO of MCV Hospitals, has been appointed to the governing council of the American Hospital Association’s section of Maternal and Child Health.

The section’s governing council provides input and participates in the AHA’s overall policy process. Council members identify priority issues to address and ways to define and focus AHA policy, advocacy and service on behalf of maternal and child health providers.

Duval will serve a three-year term that began in January.

The governing council is made up of 15 individuals representing healthcare leadership from some of the country’s leading women’s and children’s health provider organizations.

As hospital CEO, Duval is responsible for the overall management of the hospital, including administration, financial operations, patient care services, support services, clinical services and medical affairs. He received both a bachelor’s degree and a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of California, Irvine.

The AHA is a not-for-profit association of health care provider organizations and individuals that are committed to the health improvement of their communities. The AHA is the national advocate for its members, which includes 5,000 hospitals, health care systems, networks, other providers of care and 37,000 individual members.
