Buie Harwood, professor and chair of VCU's Department of Interior Design, has been named an honorary fellow of the American Society of Interior Designers.

Harwood has been named an honorary fellow of the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID). Nominated by the Virginia Chapter of ASID, and voted on by the ASID fellow members, Harwood will soon be inducted at an awards celebration at the ASID conference in Scottsdale, AZ. In addition, Harwood will receive the ASID Educational Foundation/Joel Polsky Award for her design history book entitled, "Architecture and Interior Design through the 18th century: An Integrated History."

Anne Dobie Peebles, M.A., VCU Massey Cancer Center
Peebles, an advisory board member for the VCU Massey Cancer Center, is one of eight Virginia women to be honored by The Virginia Foundation for Women and The Delta Kappa Gamma Society International. Peebles and the other women will be featured on a poster for their accomplishments and important contributions in celebration of March --Women's History Month.

Charlotte K. Roberts, B.S., MCV Hospitals Auxiliary of the VCU Health System
Roberts was selected as one of ten Outstanding Women of 2003 by the YWCA of Richmond as the outstanding woman in the category of volunteerism. Roberts was chosen because she best exemplified the goals and values of the YWCA through her professional and volunteer achievements. The Outstanding Women Awards (OWA) honor women of achievement in the categories of art, business, communications, education, health and science, human relations, government and politics, law, religion and volunteerism. This year's winners were selected from more than 40 nominees, based on their impact on the community, leadership skills, a high level of achievement and commitment to equality and racial harmony. Roberts and the other honorees will be recognized May 2 at the YWCA's 23rd Annual OWA luncheon in Richmond.
