Nobel Laureate Oliver Smithies, Ph.D., the Weatherspoon Eminent Distinguished Professor in the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, was a guest lecturer at VCU this week. He was a co-recipient of the Nobel Prize in physiology/medicine in 2007 for his work on gene targeting.
