Opportunities abound at pre-health volunteer fair
Share this story
Each year, scores of Virginia Commonwealth University students interested in careers in the health sciences set time aside to serve as volunteers for health-related organizations in the Richmond area.
On Oct. 6, undergraduate students at VCU will have the opportunity to learn about some of those volunteer opportunities. A pre-health sciences volunteer fair will be staged from 5 to 7 p.m. in Salons II and III of the University Student Commons, giving students a convenient way to consider volunteer possibilities.
Volunteer positions can be excellent learning experiences for undergraduate students preparing for graduate studies in the health sciences.
Representatives from several organizations will be available to provide information and answer questions. Among those in attendance will be officials from VCU Health System, the Forest View Rescue Squad, Unite for Sight, Meals on Wheels, Planned Parenthood and the Fan Free Clinic.
