A panel of experts will discuss how electronic blogs are reshaping criticism and scholarship in the arts and humanities on Feb. 6 at Virginia Commonwealth University.

The panel discussion, "Blogging the Arts and Humanities," will be held at 7:30 p.m. in the VCU Student Commons Theater, 907 Floyd Ave. The event is free and open to the public.

Panelists include:

Charles Bernstein is the author of 30 books of poetry and libretti, including "Girly Man" and "Shadowtime." He is the founder of the Electronic Poetry Center at SUNY-Buffalo, where he was appointed a distinguished professor in 2002. Bernstein is now Donald T. Regan Professor of English at the University of Pennsylvania.

Tyler Green writes and edits Modern Art Notes (artsjournal.com/man), a 5-year-old visual arts blog. The Wall Street Journal called MAN "the most influential of all visual arts blogs," and Forbes named MAN one of its "Best of the Web."

Dan Cohen is the director of research projects at the Center for History and New Media at George Mason University, where he teaches history and art history. He is also the co-author of "Digital History: A Guide to Gathering, Preserving and Presenting the Past on the Web."

This presentation is part of VCU's year-long series, "Creating and Consuming Culture in the Digital Age," which is sponsored by the Department of English in collaboration with the School of Mass Communications and the School of the Arts. It is funded by the VCU Honors Program through its National Endowment for the Humanities Year program.
