Sexual Assault Prevention Month Events at VCU

April is Sexual Assault Awareness Month, and the Virginia Commonwealth University Injury and Violence Prevention Program is partnering with Fear 2 Freedom, a global non-profit organization working to help victims of sexual assault, for two events on campus this month.
· Wednesday, April 11, 6 p.m., Monroe Park Campus
“Take Back the Night” Rally and March Against Violence
- Event consists of a clothesline project, featuring T-shirts decorated by sexual assault survivors, and rally and march around campus
· Monday, April 23, 6 to 8 p.m., Larrick Student Center, MCV Campus
“Where is the Line?” Celebration Event
- Students and volunteers will assemble 500 kits for adult and children victims of sexual assault and patients of the VCU Medical Center, containing toiletries, clothing, toys and sexual assault information and resources to be delivered to the VCU Emergency Department and unloaded by medical and nursing students.
The Fear 2 Freedom campaign urges college students to take action to help put an end to dating violence and sexual assault.
