Special graduation ceremony for twin daughters of Robbie Vance

A Prince George man who spent 71 days in a Houston hospital after an attack of acute pancreatitis will be able to see his daughters receive their high school diplomas in a special ceremony at the Virginia Commonwealth University Medical Center on Friday.
Robbie Vance was transferred to the VCU Medical Center on May 26 from a Houston hospital after the attack derailed his vacation. His condition is stable, but he is unable to leave the hospital. He and his wife, Gail Vance, missed their twin daughters’ 18th birthday celebrations and their senior proms. They had hoped Vance would be able to attend their graduations from Prince George County High School.
A pre-graduation ceremony for Lauren and Lindsay Vance will be held at noon in the VCU Medical Center’s Main Hospital, 1250 E. Marshall St., on the first floor, room 1-427, June 9. Members of the Prince George County school system will conduct the ceremony.
Attending from the Prince George County Schools will be Dorothea Shannon, superintendent; Dave Clark, principal, Prince George High School; and R.E. (Bobby) Cox, Jr., chairman, Prince George County School Board.
