Students at the Virginia Commonwealth University School of the Arts in Qatar are exhibiting Qatari Bottlescape, a sculptural installation of 648 water bottles filled with varying amounts of rice, lentils, salt, water and oil.

Displayed in the atrium of the school, Qatari Bottlescape is a collaboration of 13 students, Dana Raymond, associate professor at North Carolina State University's College of Design, and VCU Qatar professors Sally Van Gorder and Karl Burkheimer.

The students, many of them sophomores, are enrolled in a creative strategies class as part of their continuing education in graphic design, interior design or fashion design.

The students will distribute the food staples used in the project to people in need as part of the practices of Ramadan.
