Beginning April 19, Medical College of Virginia alumni, family, friends and fans will have an opportunity to purchase new gear featuring the MCV vintage logo. The green-and-white branded items — which include a T-shirt, long sleeve shirt, crew neck sweatshirt, baseball hat, keychain and more  — will be available for purchase in store and online through Barnes & Noble @ VCU, while supplies last. The release comes just in time for VCU Alumni Month and the MCV Campus Reunion on April 20-22.

The VCU Office of Trademarks & Licensing, which regulates usage of the VCU brand, designed the MCV vintage collection in partnership with the VCU School of Medicine, Barnes & Noble @ VCU and the VCU Office of Development and Alumni Relations. Since the Medical College of Virginia joined VCU to become the VCU School of Medicine, availability of gear bearing the MCV mark has been unavailable. The Medical College of Virginia service mark and logo mark are registered with the State Corporation Commission, but gear has not been produced since the launch of the VCU Health brand.

“MCV alumni or former employees frequently reach out to our office asking where they can get MCV-branded product,” said Christy Rabil, manager of marketing, trademarks and licensing  at VCU Business Services. “There has been a clear demand for MCV gear, and we’re happy to be able to bring these products to MCV fans.”
