Third annual Carver-VCU Health Fair

RICHMOND, Va. — The Carver-Virginia Commonwealth University Partnership will sponsor the Third Annual Community Health Fair from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. on April 29 at the Commonwealth Cancer Institute, 1109 W. Marshall St.

Activities include free prostate and breast exams and blood pressure screenings as well as hearing, vision and dental checks. Pre-school immunizations, child identification cards and information from the American Cancer Society also will be available.

State officials will be present to assist residents in applying for programs such as Medicaid and Women, Infants and Children (WIC). In addition, information on youth employment services in Richmond and preparing for the General Education Diploma (GED) will be available from Adult Career Development Services.

The fair is free and open to all ages, with food, games and entertainment provided. In the event of rain, the fair will be held at Carver Elementary School, 110 W. Leigh St. For more information, contact Ann Nichols-Casebolt at (804) 828-0703.
