VCU Health System Administrators Offer Insight on Supreme Court’s Affordable Care Act Ruling

Sheldon Retchin, M.D., CEO of the Virginia Commonwealth University Health System and vice president for health sciences at VCU, is available to provide insight on the impact on the United States health care system of the Supreme Court’s decision on the Affordable Care Act. The nationally known expert has testified before Congress on the role of the safety net in health services delivery and has served on Virginia’s Health Reform Commission.
Retchin also has been appointed to a number of national panels, including to the post of vice chairman of the 15-member National Health Care Workforce Commission by U.S. Comptroller General Gene Dodaro. He has published approximately 90 articles, monographs, books and book chapters on the costs, quality and outcomes of care.
Also available is Sheryl Garland, vice president of health policy and community relations for VCU Health System. Garland has focused on developing relationships on the federal, state and local levels to address the access and funding needs of vulnerable populations. She has also served on the board of directors of the National Association of Public Hospitals and Health Systems.
