Education is an enterprise that depends on community involvement and a shared understanding of values relative to learning. Effective school leaders and teachers know that success in building community support rests on constantly looking at leadership, society and learning through many perspectives. These lenses run the gamut from serious frameworks in the business world to the whimsical creations that are the hallmark of the Walt Disney Corporation.
Grier will address the importance of educating learners from preschool to graduate school through an integration of disciplinary considerations and how the VCU School of Education and the School of Business are vigilantly working to inspire and serve members of the Richmond, national and international community.
The event is sponsored by the School of Education's Department of Educational Leadership as part of its Distinguished Lecture Series on Education and Community.
