VCU Medical Center presents ‘Pulmonary Hypertension: A Growing Concern’

The Virginia Commonwealth University Medical Center continues its free educational seminar series this spring featuring experts who provide important health information and answer questions on a variety of current topics in health care.
The series’ next lecture, “Pulmonary Hypertension: A Growing Concern,” will take place on April 3 from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at the Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden, Education and Library Complex, 1800 Lakeside Ave. It is free and open to the public, but registration is required. “Pulmonary Hypertension: A Growing Concern” will be presented by pulmonologist Daniel Grinnan, M.D., and cardiologists Melissa Smallfield, M.D., and Richard Cooke, M.D. Pulmonary hypertension is high blood pressure in the arteries to your lungs that can lead to heart failure. The seminar will discuss how the collaboration between pulmonology and cardiology is benefiting patients and helping them manage the disease.
