VCU Medical Center Presents Spring Seminar Series

The Virginia Commonwealth University Medical Center presents the Every Day, A New Discovery Seminar Series – four lectures featuring physicians from the VCU Medical Center who will talk about current topics in health care.
The lectures will take place from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at the Lewis Ginter Botanical Gardens, Education and Library Complex, 1800 Lakeside Ave. The seminars are free and open to the public, but registration is required. For more information, or to register, call 804-828-0123.
Feb. 9 – “Heart Hope: How to Avoid the Big One,” presented by George Vetrovec, M.D., Division of Cardiology at the VCU Pauley Heart Center. Vetrovec will discuss strategies for maintaining a healthy heart.
Feb. 11 – “Everything You Wanted to Know About Atrial Fibrillation,” presented by Kenneth Ellenbogen, M.D., and Vigneshwar Kasirajan, M.D., VCU Pauley Heart Center. Ellenbogen and Kasirajan will discuss new therapies for atrial fibrillation and what the future holds for heart health and treatments.
March 10 – “What Women Should Know about Urogynecology,” presented by Catherine Matthews, M.D., urogynecology specialist and da Vinci Robotic Surgery expert. Matthews will discuss how women should be surgical advocates and how to determine which urogynecologic procedure is the best option. She also will talk about the latest in advanced robotic urogynecologic surgery and its benefits for patients.
March 31 – “What to Know and What to Do,” presented by Warren Felton III, M.D., director of the VCU Stroke Program. Felton will discuss the latest advances in stroke diagnosis and treatment.
