- Poll results related to higher education will be released at a news conference at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 26, in the House Briefing Room of the General Assembly Building.
The poll, conducted by the Commonwealth Educational Policy Institute at the L. Douglas Wilder School of Government and Public Affairs at Virginia Commonwealth University, is an annual current statewide survey of adult public opinion in Virginia on a range of education policy questions.
This year’s K-12 poll measured Virginians about their support of topics such as teacher pay, charter schools and school funding.
The higher ed poll, meanwhile, gauges Virginians’ views on issues such as workforce readiness and development, campus safety, college tuition and financial aid.
Virginia Secretary of Education Dietra Trent, Ph.D., will join John Accordino, Ph.D., interim dean of the Wilder School and Robyn McDougle, Ph.D., interim executive director of the Commonwealth Educational Policy Institute and an associate professor at the Wilder School, at the news conferences.
