VCU Real Estate Trends conference draws more than 500 people

More than 500 people attended the 13th annual VCU Real Estate Trends conference to get the scoop on future economic and real estate forecasts.

VCU Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs Roderick J. McDavis welcomed the audience of real estate professionals to the conference, which was held at the Greater Richmond Convention Center. He spoke of the booming growth at VCU and it's plans to build a new School of Business and addition to the School of Engineering east of Belvidere Street and across from Monroe Park. "VCU believes in growth, development and partnership," he said. "We are straight-focused on the future."

Representatives of New York-based Moody's Investors Services and Chicago-based Real Estate Research Corporation told the conference that office and apartment vacancies in Virginia and other states won't drop until business hire more employees.
