VCU Rice Center Board of Trustees announced

RICHMOND, Va. – Thirty leaders from business, environmental, government and community organizations have been named to the Virginia Commonwealth University Inger and Walter Rice Center for Environmental Life Sciences Board of Trustees.
The VCU Rice Center is a 342-acre property along the James River in Charles City County, Va., that is being developed for the study and research of life sciences. The property also is rich in history, serving as a living laboratory for VCU students and faculty to conduct hands-on research in areas of ecology, environmental sciences, natural resources management, archeology and history.
Board of Trustees officers are:
· Dr.
Randolph L. Gordon, chairman. Dr. Gordon is
senior vice president for Health System Development, Bon Secours Health System,
Inc. Dr. Gordon’s father, Raymond Lee Gordon, Jr., was the director of YMCA
Camp Richmond-Weyanoke, the site of the VCU Rice Center
· Anna Logan Lawson, vice-chairman. Ms. Lawson is founding director of ValleyBank in Roanoke. She is a board member of several education and art organizations, as well as the Virginia chapter of The Nature Conservancy
· Gilbert A. Smith, secretary-treasurer. Mr. Smith is a Charles City County supervisor and a board member of several civic business organizations in Charles City County

· Dr. Renard A. Charity, president, Manchester Medical Associates and practicing obstetrician-gynecologist
· William Cary Crane, co-owner and operator, Green Wave Radio
· G. Lee Crenshaw II, chairman of Anderson & Strudwick, Inc.
· Mary C. Doswell, senior vice president and chief administrative officer, Dominion Resources, Inc.; president, Dominion Resources Services, Inc.
